One of the most popular new wave bands, ABC, formed in Sheffield, are an English new wave group that first came to prominence in the early 1980s. Under the direction of vocalist Martin Fry, the group scored several ┬ásynth-driven, dance pop hits including “Poison Arrow”, “Look of Love” and “Be Near Me”. Their 1982 debut album, The Lexicon of Love, was a UK number one and they achieved ten UK and five US Top 40 hit singles between 1981 and 1990. The band continue to tour and released their eighth studio album, Traffic, in 2008. ABC’s ninth studio album, The Lexicon of Love II, was released in the UK on May 27th 2016.
